HANOVER, Jamaica — A police constable is now in an unconscious state in hospital after he was thrown from a Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) lorry in the Cave Valley district of Hanover this morning.

The constable was in the vehicle along with three JDF members, including the driver.

Reports are that about 11:00 am, the constable was travelling in the vehicle when, on reaching a section of the Cave Valley roadway, he lost his balance and was thrown from of the vehicle.

“I don’t know what happen. I am trying to get to it. He was thrown off the lorry and he is now in the hospital unconscious. So I am trying to work and hope that everything work out the best way,” said commanding officer for Hanover, Superintendent Sharon Beeput, during today’s monthly general meeting of the Hanover Municipal Corporation.

Superintendent Beeput, who said she visited the hospital earlier, urged those in attendance at the meeting to “just keep him [the injured constable] in your prayers”.
