A 16-year-old boy from Clarendon has been arrested and charged with three counts of murder arising from the gun slaying of a father and his two sons in the parish in November.

The triple killing of Clifton Scott Snr and his two sons, Clifton Jnr and Orville, took place in the Ebony Park area of the parish on November 12.

The gunmen, on a robbery spree, had earlier robbed patrons at a shop in the yard where the Scotts lived. After entering their house and robbing them, the gunmen opened fire, killing the three family members.

The teenager’s name has been withheld because he is a minor.

In addition to the murder charges, he has been booked for several other alleged offences, including illegal possession of a firearm and robbery with aggravation.

Investigators said the teenager was picked up during an operation last week, and has since been pointed out at an identification parade.

They said another man who was suspected of being involved in the triple killing was shot dead during the operation in which the teen was held. The deceased has been identified as Jermaine Bailey, otherwise called ‘Jermie’.

A number of other suspects are being pursued for the triple killing.
