The police are keeping a close watch on sections of East Kingston where two persons were shot dead and four others injured during two separate incidents on Monday.

In the first incident, police reported that at about 10:30 a.m., Smith and a group of men were standing on Third Avenue in Vineyard Town on a work site, when they were approached by a group of heavily armed men.

“The men came to the site demanding work,” one source from the community told Loop News.

Police reported that during a heated discussion, the men opened fire, hitting Smith and three men who were among persons standing beside him.

The injured persons were rushed to hospital, where Smith was pronounced dead and the other men admitted.

In the second incident that took place at about 4:30 p.m., Wesley and two other men were standing on the road side in Franklyn Town, when they were attacked by a group of heavily armed men.

The men opened fire, hitting Wesley and one other person. The injured were rushed to hospital, where Wesley was pronounced dead.
